Automatic (1995) – DVD Review

Automatic starring Oliver Gruner is a fun low-budget sci-fi action film from the 1990s. The movie follows a security android who begins to develop human emotions after defending a woman from attackers. This causes problems for the corporation that created him, leading to a tense cat-and-mouse chase as they try to shut him down. Oliver Gruner does a solid job as the android, bringing a mix of cold machine logic and growing humanity to the role. The film has a classic direct-to-video feel with plenty of action, simple effects, and a story that fans of 90s sci-fi will appreciate. While it may not have a big budget, Automatic is an enjoyable watch for anyone who likes retro action movies and cyborg-style stories.
